LEXINGTON MEDICAL SOCIETY Executive Committee March 10, 2014 The Executive Committee of the Lexington Medical Society held its regular meeting on Monday, March 10, 2014, in the offices of the Society, Thomas H. Waid, M.D., presiding. Attending were Amanda Faulkner, Patty Pellegrini and Drs. Jason Harris, Thomas F. Whayne, Davanand C. Doodnauth, Richard D. Floyd, Roberto Gedaly, David S. Kirn, Susan E. Neil, Khalil U. Rahman, John G. Roth, Kaveh R. Sajadi, Karin R. Swartz, Tuyen T. Tran, Emery A. Wilson, along with ex-officio members Drs. David Bensema and Andrew R. Pulito. Also present was Patrick Padgett, the KMA Executive Director, and Christopher Hickey. The meeting was called to order at 6:07 p.m. Minutes – The minutes of the last regular meeting (02/11/14), distributed prior to this meeting, were approved on motion by the Committee. Treasurer’s Report – Dr. Harris presented the monthly financial report. The major expenses during February were $7,500 CPA expenses for year-end taxes and $1,400 for conversion to QuickBooks. A status on dues collection was distributed with 97 members having not paid their dues yet. COUNCIL REPORTS: Administrative – Nothing to Report, the Administrative Council did not meet in February. Service – Nothing to Report, The Service Council did not meet in February. Alliance Report – Patty Pellegrini reported that the LMSA is beginning to fill out its board for next year. There is a Legislative Update at Palomar Clubhouse on April 25. She reported that the AMA Alliance Southern Regional Conference is March 20-22, 2014 in Louisville, Kentucky at the Brown Hotel. KMA Report – Dr. Bensema presented the following report: The Physician Day at the Capital occurred on February 26. The KMA Budget Committee met to approve a budget to present to the Board of Trustees. Expenditures exceed revenues this year. The KMA Strategic Planning effort is critical to position for the future. The plan needs to make membership in KMA more attractive to its members while simultaneously making the organization leaner. They need to figure out how to appeal to
