Anorexia Nervosa: | Lynsee Yacks Page 1 of 13 Introduction During the course of B399 Women and Madness, I have learned about Hysteria, symptoms and possible causes, which made me wonder about other well-known disorders that are difficult to put into nice and neat “boxes” of diagnosis. The disorder that I am most intrigued to examine in the light of Hysteria is Anorexia Nervosa. I am planning to continue my education to have a clinical practice with a specialty in Feeding and Eating Disorders and would like to know if Anorexia Nervosa is more like a new aged Hysteria or a stand-alone disorder. To answer this question, I examined Hysteria and related research, as well as, Anorexia Nervosa and related research.
