New Leadership BRANDON JOHNSON is the newly appointed Director of Choral Activities at Eastern Michigan University. He comes to Michigan via western New York where he held the Horne- Blanchard Chair of Music and served as the Director of Choral Activities at the Greatbatch School of Music, Houghton College. In addition, he is the Founder and Artistic Director of an emerging professional vocal ensemble Vox Lumine. He has performed in venues across the country including Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall, the Kennedy Center, and in 2013 he made his conducting debut at the renowned Carnegie Hall with the 2014 National Sacred Honor Choir. Choirs under his direction have been invited to perform, and he has been selected to present for state and regional American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) and the National Association for Music Education (NAFME) conferences. Choral Outreach Programs At Eastern Michigan University the department logo says it all - “Music Education First.” In service to the profession we seek to provide educational opportunities for students and current teachers alike.
