(AP) — The door is firmly shut to Bill Cosby’s return to NBC, the network’s top entertainment executive said Friday. “That’s safe to say,” NBC Entertainment Chairman Bob Greenblatt said Friday when asked if the network would ever again do a project with Cosby, who 30 years ago was the sitcom king with NBC’s “The Cosby Show.” NBC’s decision to sever ties with the 77-year-old comedian comes in the wake of multiple allegations of sexual assault against him, two lawsuits and a complaint to Los Angeles police earlier this week from a woman who says the come- dian sexually abused her in 2008. The network said late last year it was dropping plans to develop a “classic” family sitcom with him. The series was announced in mid-2014, before a rising tide of accusations against Cosby by women who say he drugged and assaulted them. During a Q&A session with the Television Critics Association, Greenblatt was asked to explain what tipped the network against working with Cosby, who was publicly fending off allegations from two women a decade ago. Cosby has not been charged in any of the alleged assaults and has denied them. In 2005, he settled a civil suit filed by one woman that included claims of battery and assault. NEW YORK (AP) — The blues- rock band the Black Crowes are fading to black. Founding member Rich Robinson announced Thursday the group is dis- banding after 24 years. In a statement, he alluded to internal issues between his brother and the band. “I love my brother and respect his talent but his present demand that I must give up my equal share of the band and that our drummer for 28 years and orig- inal partner, Steve Gorman , relinquish 100 percent of his share, reducing him to a sala- ried employee, is not something I could agree to,” Robinson said in the statement. Robinson, the band’s guitarist and songwriter, founded the group with his brother and lead singer, Chris Robinson . An email seeking comment from Chris Robinson wasn’t immediately returned. He also fronts the band Chris Rob- inson Brotherhood. Besides the Robinsons and Gorman, the Black Crowes included bassist Sven Pipien , keyboardist Adam MacDougall and guitarist Jackie Greene . Grateful Dead to reunite for final concerts in July NEW YORK (AP) — The Grateful Dead is coming back to life for final concerts in July. The band announced Friday that surviving members Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh and Bob Weir will perform three shows from July 3 to 5 at Soldier Field in Chicago. The band is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and the shows will mark its final performances, the band said. They last per- formed at the Chicago venue in 1995 with band member Jerry Garcia , who died a month later.
