Phi Mu Delta - Alumni NewsletterSummer 2014 Recruitment is up: ! This semester was yet another successful season for Rush. Up from just one pledge during Spring 2013, this Spring we brought in 7 new pledges, which in combination with our 12 member Fall class has made us one of the top-recruiting fraternities on campus. Miraculously, all of them have survived the pledging process and became proud new brothers this past April. The pledges were the rst class in several years to get to experience sports night, together made a class video, and participated in many of the old . Paddles this semester were also particularly impressive, with many of the pledges spending long hours honing their inexperience with a jigsaw, and some even using specialty hardwoods. In fact, this past semester we catalogued every paddle still at the house, all the way back to the ‘80s. You can see those paddles here, http://bit.ly/T0qXni. ! House GPA is up: ! Up from just 2.78 for the Fall, this Spring brought all-house study nights. Every Thursday night the co ee would ow, and our Scholarship chair helped to keep track of any di culties people were having with their classes. Brothers would help each other with their di cult courses, and while Data Structures took a few casualties, we’re proud to report that our GPA rose to 3.14 (yes, the jokes were already made). Involvement on Campus: ! Community Service: ! This semester we increased our fundraising e orts for St. Jude’s with some new ideas.
