I wanted to start out by providing a quick reminder of the SCO Sparkly Social which is happening this evening. Please check the announcement mentioned later in this Tin Tuc regarding details. It should prove to be a wonderful evening of fun and relaxation. As our Grade 5-12 students go off next week for their annual trips, I wanted to once again express our sincere thanks to the faculty and staff who are giving up several days and nights of their personal time to be with our students 24/7. They do it because they want to do it. They understand the value that these kinds of experiences have for our students. The curriculum learning, the cultural orientation and appreciation of our wonderful host country of Vietnam, the service opportunities, and the bonding and connecting with old and new friends are many of the reasons why we do this. The faculty willingly guides these experiences with enthusiasm, strength and a desire to make a difference with our students. These experiences are extremely important in the academic lives and social development of our students and the memories established are often the ones the students remember most as they look back on this time in their lives. The commitment and dedication of the faculty and staff is exemplary and deserve our deepest appreciation. Hieu Phan , 11G who le UNIS Hanoi this week. Alexander (Xander) Nef , 1JH Yoo Jun An, 5JH Sorcha Hamer, 9A Finally, a reminder that our “Hors d’Oeuvres with the Head of School” will be next Tuesday evening at 1900 in the Community Room in B7. Please join the me and other administrators as we make a brief presentation about the Accreditation process we are currently going through and then take all of your questions, concerns and suggestions. These quarterly sessions (two evening sessions and two morning sessions) are offered to provide parents on a quarterly basis with direct access to the senior leadership team including myself for questions, concerns and suggestions. It also helps us keep the pulse of the community in terms of what are the topics that parents are interested in, need some clarification about, or have some concerns with. We hope to see as many of you there as possible. Respectfully, Dr. Chip Barder , hos@unishanoi.org
