Once we found the averages of our bodies, legs, arms, hands, feet, and head, we doubled them to get the Yeti's measurements. Then construction was complete!
We've built a life sized Yeti. He is twice the size of the average fourth grader. As a class we measured various body parts followed by figuring out the average size of our students!
Students from Miss Claytor's, Mrs. Maroney's, and Mrs. Smallwood's classes work hard to build a replica of the Jamestown Fort. The groups were given time to plan and worked cooperatively construct the fort. Each group had limited supplies and had to barter with each other and the Smallwood Trading Post for attentional items. We were impressed by their communication and teamwork. These photos are a taste of their projects!
