“Don’t listen to him, he’s a jerk to everyone. Hi, I’m Riley!” With a look of disgust toward Jacob, Emma introduces herself. “Hey, I’m Emma. He’s kinda cute.” Emma added. “Wow, you gotta be kidding me. Well, on the off chance that I might like you, you’re kinda cute. But I can’t stand your face, no offense but it makes me sick.” Jacob overheard what Emma said to Riley. Emma took her seat and just stared at the board. After class Emma walked past Jacob and he tripped her. “Ow, what the heck is your problem!” screamed Emma. Jacob got up and walked right past her. Riley scowled at Jacob, while helping Emma back up. “He is so rude, I can’t even stand it.” Riley said. “Yeah, I guess being the new kid isn’t as easy as it seems.” The rest of the day passes by in a blur. One moment Emma was in her second hour and the next she was in her dad’s car on the way home, which her mother was driving. “How was your first day of school?” Emma’s mother said. “Great. Just great.” Emma stomps up the stairs to her bedroom, to the amazing wonders known as sleep. The darkness seemed to consume every bit of happiness she had, and nobody understood. Her mom woke her up in the morning to go school. Emma really dreads walking into the school and facing Jacob. Emma has decided that she doesn’t want to go to school in fear of being made fun of, so she’s gonna talk to Riley. Emma gets ready and heads out to the bus stop. She gets on the bus and sitting in the front row is Riley. Emma sighed a sigh of relief as she sits next to her. “So I gotta talk to you about Jacob.” Emma said. “Okay, shoot,” “Well I really don’t want to go the whole school year with Jacob picking on me so I was wondering if you would talk to the principal for me?” Emma asked.
