Concluding Activities Students will present their project to the class. Before presentations begin, students will be given a chart. Students will be asked to complete the chart during presentations where they will be asked to record each Enlightenment thinkers ideas about the best form of government, the morality of slavery, human nature and the role of women. Student Assessment (attach rubric for technology integration activity) Methods for Measuring Student Achievement Project/Presentation rubric, chart in Interactive notebook, self-reflection related to role as leader, recorder or checker, think-pair-share discussion Homework Based on the Fakebook presentations, students will answer the 2 reflection questions below: Reflect on the 2 Enlightenment thinkers who seem to have the most in common and cite 2 specific examples from the projects. Reflect on the 2 Enlightenment thinkers who seem to have the least in common and cite 2 specific examples from the projects. This chart will be glued in the students’ interactive notebooks and will help to serve as a study guide for the unit exam. The next class period, students will meet with one other member of the class in a think-pair-share group to discuss the reflection questions. Students will also self-reflect the next class period: How well do you think you carried out your role as leader, recorder or checker in the group? How well do you believe the other group members carried out their roles? They will turn in this reflection to me. . Accomodations/ Modifications Provide lecture notes. Provide copies of completed Enlightenment chart for students to highlight important details during presentations. Explorations/ Extensions Connections to today: Who might each Enlightenment thinker be compared to today? How might history be different if each of these Enlightenment thinkers did not exist?
