Introduction I am pleased to present this, the 3 rd Annual Report of the Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust Library and Knowledge Service. The goal of the Library and Knowledge Service is to work hand - in - hand with clinicians, managers and academics to ensure that staff and students have the skills and knowledge to translate innovative ideas into practice. In addition to providing access to journal articles, books and electronic databases, our information specialists provide evidence to inform decision - making, teach research lit- eracy and alert our members to key publications in their fields. Our annual report presents key performance indicators, and summarises major service developments of the past year. Angela Clifford, Knowledge Services Manager QUALITY Since 2010, the Library’s performance has been monitored under the NHS Library Quality Assurance Framework (LQAF). This nationally mandated quality assurance tool has been used to assess the quality of NHS library/ knowledge services. Compliance with the national standards is specified in the current Learning and Development Agreements that the Health Education East Midlands has with each East Midlands Trust. In 2013 the Trust Library Service achieved 82% compliance with LQAF standards. This is a 10% increase over the previous year. An action plan for 2014–15 will now address the areas of non and partial compliance and will also ensure the current standards are maintained in anticipation of re - assessment in September 2014.
