and I think I kind of deserved it, I mean trying to do a back handspring without anyone helping me was probably a bad idea in the first place. “Hello Dr. Freyt, this is Sydney. She was walking and she tripped and fell and she hurt her ankle”, Sydney’s mom said cautiously. “Well, then we should have her ankle xrayed. I’m sorry, but nobody is allowed in the x ray room while we are xraying. You will have to wait outside.” It felt like forever before we finally saw a nurse pushing Sydney in a wheelchair. as she neared us, I could see that her ankle was all wrapped up. Something told me Sydney would not be trying out with me at soccer tryouts. The next day came, and passed. By the time I knew it, my mom was calling me downstairs for breakfast. “Coming!” I yelled back. I quickly got dressed in my soccer clothes and ran downstairs. I ate breakfast and finally, my 17 year old sister appeared at the stairs. “Ready to go?” she asked me. “Yeah, i’m ready.” I climbed out of the car as we approached the field. I walked over to the coach. “Is this everybody?” she asked. “I guess.” “Okay, but before we actually start playing against other schools we need another player.” “Um, coach I know someone that will be able to play in a couple days.” “Oh, thats great. Can you ask her to tryout next saturday?” “Sure.” As I climbed in the car after tryouts, I asked myself what would I do without Sydney? I mean in the first place she was the one who made me try soccer and after all it was’nt to bad. I guess I could live with this. And as those thoughts went on something told me that I was going to be doing this for a long time.
