Part of North Broward Preparatory School’s commitment to the whole child is its iLearning program, which emphasizes delivering personalized learning through use of Apple technology; specifically a one-to- one student iPad with iPad and Mac for teachers. A strong leadership team fuels the program along with dedicated teachers and supportive parents. The school's Touchpoints curriculum is a highlight of this program, in which students undertake a year-long study on a topic of global significance, such as poverty or deforestation. Students use video conferencing and Edmodo to interact with students in partner classes from one of North Broward's sister schools around the globe. Faculty collaborate with students and one another to make thinking visible and to document the processes of learning and reflection. Student-designed iMovies, ebooks, and individual enrichment projects provide layered and specific evidence of student achievement. Various modes of reflective practice, including digital reflection journals and "Visible Thinking Routines" help teachers assess student thinking and growth. Recognized by Apple as a distinguished program for innovation, leadership, and educational excellence.
