English Canal Boat Painting..

Traditional Folk Art Roses are used through out Europe and just the use of colours transforms the look of the finished project. English Canal boat for roses for instance, uses bright primary colours - yellow petals on top of bright orange backgrounds, primary red petal on top of brown backgrounds and white petals on pink backgrounds. The dutch Hinderloopen style uses the same roses, but uses much more earthy colours such as Raw and Burnt Sienna or mono chromatic colour schemes such as blue and off white. French florals tend to be much more muted colours. Here you can see the bold dramatic colours of the English canal boat painting and how we've created a much more subtle vintage design with the Vintage roses design kit. Choose your favourite colours to paint your projects - as always, Happy Painting - Carol x
