Rashomon The servant stormed out of the Rashomon gate. The old lady was crying out loud. It was raining cats and dogs so the servant began to run. He ran and ran and ran. The servant had no where to go. It was hard for him to keep his eyes wide open because of the rain. He tripped on a rock and hurt his knee. After 10 minutes of running he cam across an old house. The servant checked if anyone was inside from the windows and it was empty. He assumed it was an abandoned house. The door was unlocked and so went in. There were a few empty boxes in the house otherwise it was completely empty. Even though the servant was already under a roof he was still shivering and wet. He put the old lady’s clothes on the floor and observed the house. He was so hungry. He went to the kitchen to see if there was any food but there was nothing. Not even crumbs. He decided to go out in the rain to see if anyone will buy the old lady’s clothes. he went around a few blocks but it was too rainy and cold and nobody was outside. he went back to the house. While the servant walked in the house, a man pulled up into the driveway. The man got out of the car, he looked scared but mean at the same time. The servant didn't know who he was so he locked the door and the man ran and started pounding on the door. “WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY HOUSE?” “My house?” the servant repeated in his head. “this is his house, oh no” said the servant. “ANSWER ME” shouted the angry owner. the servant didn’t know what to do. The servant slowly unlocked the door. “Don’t hurt me, I can explain” the servant said in a shaky voice. “Explain now!” the man said. “I’m sorry i thought this was an abandoned house. ill leave right now.” “I’m moving out of this house you fool, Leave and never come back. Don’t you dare come near my property again” demanded the owner. “Ok got it, sorry” the servant said while he picked up the old lady’s clothes and walked away. The servant was back in the rain. He didn’t know where to go. He began to shiver again. The servant though about the old lady. she must be cold he thought to himself. Her screams are unforgettable. The servant ran and the guilt grew more and more. he looked at her sweater and he felt a stab in his heart. I need to give these back to her, he thought to himself. But I’m too hungry I need food. The servant had no where to go. He was cold and hungry, he was all alone and had nobody to sell the clothes too. His stomach was growling and his heart ached about the old lady. The servant didn’t know whether to rescue his stomach or wether to rescue the old lady. She must be freezing he thought to himself. He couldn't handle the guilt that was growing in him. The servant ran to the direction that would lead him to the Rashomon gate. He ran and run. Every step he took he felt less guilty. The servant finally got to the Rashomon gate. Out of breath, he ran up the red staircase. He see’s the old lady curled up in a ball and weeping. “I’m sorry” he apologized facing the opposite direction. “you! why are you back, what do you want?” She shouted. “I wont hurt you I promise, here take your clothes” He put her clothes on the floor without looking at her. She took the clothes, still confused about what he returned them. “Turn around, I’m fully dressed” She said a few minutes later. “I’m sorry” he said “I understand, Thank you for returning my clothes” the old lady started to cry. The servant stepped forward and hugged her. “We will figure something out.” He promised her.
