The year 2013 saw many significant advances in the work of the Global Peace Foundation. Early in 2013, following the declaration of a state of emergency in the states in northern Nigeria by President Goodluck, GPF and partners convened Muslim and Christian leaders as well as traditional rules in a national consultation, resulting in the launch of a nationwide initiative to build unity among Nigeria's peoples, the One Family Under God campaign. GPF's Character and Creativity Initiative also made significant advances in 2013, hosting its first global forum and expanding to Malaysia, Paraguay, Nepal, Uganda, Brazil and Indonesia. The All-Lights Villages, pioneering a comprehensive approach to development in rural communities has expanded to three new nations. The Global Peace Convention in Kuala Lumpur addressed the issues of social cohesion, drawing over 1,200 government, civil society and faith leaders from over 40 days.
