Here are eight reasons why you should consider choosing interactive, digital flipbooks instead of boring and static PDFs. Check them out!
Eighth grade students in Ms. Bongiorno’s social studies classes became part of the publishing industry, creating newsletters that highlighted some important people and events from the Progressive Era. Student news teams used print and digital library resources prepared by our librarian, Mrs. Bucher, to research the time period. News stories focused on The Newsboy Strike of 1899, the success of publishers William Randolph Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer, as well as the crowded New York City tenements and child labor. Not only are these topics part of the New York State social studies curriculum, they are also prominent themes in the Broadway musical, Newsies, which our eighth graders will take a field trip to see on December 4th.
