UF-SF Employee Education Exchange Program Employees must submit a complete professional development scholarship application and any required attachments to Human Resources by the application deadline. In certain instances, exceptions to the application deadline may be granted by the PDSF Committee. The PDSF Committee will review and approve applications as appropriate. Upon completion of approved coursework, the employee must submit his/her official grade report to be eligible for the following semester. APPROVAL PROCESS Following the application deadline the PDSF Committee will meet to award scholarships. Once scholarships are determined each applicant will receive a letter outlining their award and any other special instructions. Please be sure to read your letter carefully and contact Human Resources if you have any questions regarding your scholarship and/or the appropriate process for claiming your scholarship award. REQUIRED ATTACHMENTS 1. A plan must be submitted which clearly states how the course work would provide promotional opportunities or a defined career path objective at SF. 2. Degree requirements issued by the college or university. 3. Courses taken during working hours must be pre-approved by the employee’s supervisor and chair/director. Any time missed from normal working hours to attend classes must be made up. A supporting memorandum of request, documenting that time will be made up, and authorization must be submitted by the supervisor. CONTINUED ELIGIBILITY The employee must receive a minimum final course grade of 2.0 on a 4.0 grade scale for each under-graduate course, a minimum final course grade of 3.0 (B) on a 4.0 grade scale for each graduate or post-graduate course, or an S in a Pass/Fail class. Failure to achieve grades as referenced above will result in being placed on a probationary status for the next semester in which the employee re-applies. During the probationary semester grade requirements must be met or the employee will be ineligible for participation in the program for the next semester. An employee may be ineligible for the following semester if they do not meet the minimum grade and/or completion requirements. Continued eligibility is contingent upon approval of the PDSF Committee.
