2 Manager’s Letter Welcome to the third edition of‘Marina Life’, our new quarterly newsletter. We hope that yound this a useful and informative way of keeping up to date with all the latest news and events here at Poole Quay Boat Haven and the Port of Poole Marina. We enjoyed a busy summer this year, due in part to the wonderful weather we experienced from the middle of May right through until the end of July.August saw a slight dip in numbers but September picked up again, with almost 80 yachts visiting us on the 13th as part of the JOG (Junior Offshore Group) rally. If you would like to see a time-lapse video of the marina before and during the rally, please visit our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/poolemarinas. This summer we welcomed six seasonal staff to our team, all of whom featured in the previous two newsletters. Page 6 features four of them with a little information about what they’ll be doing next. In September I spent 10 days on our stand at the PSP Southampton Boat Show. It was quite a successful show for us as we gained some new business as well as welcoming back returning customers for the coming winter period. Visitor numbers were 0.28% up from last year.As soon as we recovered from the Southampton Boat Show it was time to start planning for the London Boat Show in January! On page 3 of this newsletter you will nd a letter from Jim Stewart, Chief Executive of Poole Harbour Commissioners, regarding the breakwater at the Port of Poole Marina. I know that all of you who are annual berth holders at the Port of Poole Marina had this letter emailed to you and I hope you nd this a welcome update on the situation there. Also on page 3 there is some information about an exciting new event that will be taking place at Poole Quay Boat Haven next May. From myself and all the team here at Poole Quay Boat Haven and Port of Poole Marina, we wish you a pleasant winter season and look forward to seeing you again soon. 2 John Binder CMM Marina Manager Dolphins spotted off Studland during theAirshow Boat Haven staff taking part in the Ice Bucket Challenge Having been nominated by the RNLI Abeautiful sunset at the Boat Haven For all the latest information, updates and offers: Photo: ©T.
