1 “I am so grateful for all your hard work and love. Right now all I want to do is sit and look at my house. Many senior and disabled residents have diculty maintaining their homes due to physical and nancial constraints. This project gives low-income, senior or disabled residents a newly painted home that enables them to remain in their homes longer and revitalizes the neighborhoods in which they live. Paint The Town™ impacts the enre community by restoring neighborhood pride, increasing property values, and bringing community members together to improve our neighborhoods. Every June, nearly 2,000 energec volunteers represenng businesses, government agencies, nancial instuons, religious groups, hospitals and service clubs roll up their sleeves to paint the homes of deserving senior and disabled homeowners. Many teams also choose to complete addional projects for the residents, including mowing yards, laying sod, planng owers, repairing fences, building wheel chair ramps, and repairing roofs. 3,110 Projects 85,318 Volunteers 442,692 Volunteer Hours 38,432 Gallons of Paint 56,115 Brushes 14,384 Tubes of Caulk 31 YEARS OF PAINT THE TOWN A History of Impact 2 Fall is a beauful me of year in the city of trees. The mul-colored leaves above our heads are a sight to behold. During late fall, the city of trees turns into the city of leaves and these leaves pose a problem for many senior and disabled residents who are unable to rake and bag them. Fortunately, thousands of volunteers from around the valley are ready and willing to help rake and winterize the homes of their senior and disabled neighbors. All candidates who apply before the applicaon deadline and that meet the qualicaons are accepted into the program. Each candidate is matched with a team of volunteers, who contacts them and coordinates a me to complete the raking. Volunteers provide their own rakes and tools to use for the event, but leaf bags are provided by Rake Up Boise. All bags of leaves are recycled and used by the City of Boise for compost and mulch. 28 YEARS OF RAKE UP BOISE 15,345 Projects 129,078 Volunteers 357,549 Bags In 2013 alone 56 Homes Painted 692 Yards Raked 7,006 Volunteers 19,280 Volunteer Hours “Thank you for providing this wonderful service.
