Open Gardens were Bloomin’ Marvellous The sun mainly shone on Scannappeal from March to September, as 14 gardens or groups of gardens welcomed over 1,700 visitors in aid of Scannappeal with rain only interrupting one event! A total of almost £15,000 was raised towards Scannappeal’s current appeals. We are very grateful to all the following garden owners who took part and for their eorts in preparing the gardens. To read more news, visit www.scannappeal.org.uk/news Stretcher Challenge raises £9,000 Angel Medics were the winners of Scannappeal’s annual Phoenix Trail Stretcher Challenge. The team from Thame Community Hospital emerged victorious from the event where points are won for creativity, completion of challenges and carrying a stretcher for six miles. The Countess of Buckinghamshire, one of Scannappeal’s Patrons, presented the cup and congratulated all participants for their eorts and support for local hospitals. Next year’s Stretcher Challenge will take place on Saturday 9 May. If you are interested in entering a team please contact info.scannappeal @buckshealthcare.nhs.uk Flying high Hailey Rose from the Breast Screening Unit at Wycombe Hospital recently took to the skies with her husband Graeme for a tandem skydive and raised nearly £400 for the Digital Breast Screening Appeal. Hailey said ‘It was very scary and I had a few tears in the plane but once we were free falling it was just the most amazing experience ever, and to do it with my husband was also fab!’ Summer of Sound Audiologists at Amersham Hospital are celebrating the delivery of the rst pieces of advanced diagnostic equipment for patients with hearing problems. Launched last year, this £50,000 Appeal has just passed the half way mark, thanks to all the amazing fundraisers who have supported our ‘Summer of Sound’ programme. Our particular thanks to The Wooburn Singers, High Wycombe Are you celebrating a special birthday ending in 0 or signicant anniversary this y gave £20 each we would have the nal £40,000 to complete the Laser Heart Ap or occasionally at our events - join our team of 150 volunteers . . . . . . . . Are you nu funds . . . . . . . . Donate your loose change from 1p to £2 Round-Up The S-nerve ultrasound machine was funded by our Small Projects Programme. The machine which is used by the anaesthetics department, improves the comfort, safety, speed, eectiveness and success of procedures such as epidurals and spinal anaesthetics.
