Stretching PREVENTS us against future stress, If you know you have a busy week ahead apply yoga, just as if you were going into the sun for 8 hours you would apply sun screen! Start your week with this shoulder love. Begin in a comfortable seated position(this can be done anywhere you have room to stretch out your arms in a T. Take the arms out in warrior 2 position palms down and to the side and begin to rotate one shoulder forward and one shoulder back. Let the ear lower to the palm that is turned up. Cross the right arm over the left and bend the elbows, you can keep holding the shoulders, bring the back of the palms together or wrap the forearms so the left fingers reach the inside of the right palm. Next, uncross the arms if you went all the way there and stretch the right fingers to the left shoulder. Keep the left bicep strong and fingers up toward the ceiling, then slide it over to the right wrist for a stretch in the deltoid. Extend both arms over head with a reach from the sides of your odd and hold your right elbow in your left hand. Stay here if that is enough or rotate the left thumb down and grab your shirt, strap or top hand. Notice the breath and see if you can experience it on all 4 sides of the torso. Shoulders are rinsed of stress, Repeat on the other side. Happy Monday!
