I go on through the house not daring to step on any of the floorboards in case they creak, my torch light beaming down on it, so I’ve finally found it, the ring; it’s right in front of me, I dash across accidently knocking over a piece of china. I clasp my hands on it and dash towards the stairs, tearing down them, I hear a noise coming from the bedroom, I jump out of the window and smashing the glass and making it shatter all the way onto the balcony. I run over to the oak tree at the bottom of the garden quickly scaling and jumping over the high fence, but the owner is after me he is so close to capturing me. Suddenly I take a left and dive into a bush. I seem to have lost him for now but I still have to keep away from him. I hear his heavy footsteps go past. I quickly go in the other direction but then I hear as shout. It’s him; he’s seen me. I dash into some deep forest land dodging in between some trees and scrambling through bushes. “Come back here you thief.” He screams. Suddenly I stumble over a tree root and he catches up a good way. I manage to get up and keep running though my leg has a lot of pain in it. I manage to scale a tree before clutching my leg with pain. The man comes to a sudden stop near the tree. He looks around himself before sitting down under a nearby tree. I think this is my moment to escape. My leg seems to have settled down by now and I have gotten my breath back. I slowly slide myself down the tree with bark scraping at my legs. It hurts a lot and my hands are getting bloody but I keep silently sliding down. I do notice that the man is still scanning the area for sudden movement. He hasn’t seen me yet but I still have to keep quiet. I keep behind the tree, not daring to move. I have really heavy shoes and I don’t want them making any noise so I take them off and put them at the foot of the tree. Rain starts trickling down through the thick branches and pattering on the ground. Well I could slowly go away, make a run for it or stay here. I decide to stay. As it would be too dangerous for me to move much. I sit down and keep a watch on the man. He suddenly gets up; looks around and starts to search the area; looking behind every tree and into every bush. I decide that I’m going to have to make a run for it. Looking around I decide that the beast place to do it would be north, away from where the man is searching. All of a sudden, he turns around and sees me; it’s now or never for me. He is right behind me and I can’t go anywhere else but forward. I run. Not thinking of anything else but going forward, this is it, the moment that I could either escape or get caught. This is going to change everything. I can’t believe that everything has come down to this. I bolt past a few more trees, skimming the edge of the bark. I now regret taking off my shoes because there are a lot of rocks on the edge of the trees, then I come to a small ten metre gorge, I’m trapped, there is very dense forest to the right and left of me and I will lose my way if I take any of those routes. I consider jumping down the gorge but then conclude that it will be way too dangerous for me to even think about it, so I slowly come to a stop fall and to the ground. Too tired to try and get past the man because he seems to have a lot of energy in him. He quickly walks up to me and without saying a word he starts dragging me back to his house.
