2 aaMM co-opertive credit uio awrds 40 new Sholrships AAMM Co-operative Credit Union awarded 40 scholarships valued at $1.4 million to students at the Secondary and Tertiary levels across the island, or the new school year. The scholarships were presented at the organisation’s ofcial Awards Ceremony held on Tuesday, July 22, at the Mona Visitors’ Lodge in Kingston. This marks the 13th year since the Credit Union began its Scholarship Programme and the scholarships granted or 2014/2015, will allow students to pursue studies locally, at various universities and a number o high schools. Speaking to this year’s recipients, Guest Speaker Rev. Ronald Thwaites, Minister o Education, encouraged the students to stay ocused, avoid distractions and develop confdence in their own abilities. He also charged parents and guardians in attendance to establish and maintain strong and positive relationships with their children. At the Secondary level, 26 students benefted rom scholarships that cover the cost o their school related expenses. At the Tertiary level, the AAMM scholarships will allow 14 students to pursue Degree Courses. Since its inception, approximately 240 students have benefted rom AAMM’s Scholarship Programme.
