championship. Or so I thought. The cars lined up at their grid positions. The sun blaring into the driver and crowds eyes. The warm humid air caused sweet to run down everyone's cheeks. I saw my dad line up in the number one grid position because he had the fastest lap time of all the drivers. As the last driver pulled into it's position the lights came on all red, the race was about to begin. I was leaned up to the window, my face pressed against the glass, steaming it up with my hot breath. Then the lights yellow, I was drooling now. Then green. "Vvraahh!!!" The cars exploded off the line like rocket ships, driving viscously to the first turn. I saw my dad leading the pack in 1st place pulling away from everyone else. As the cars veered off the next turn they vanished from behind the bleachers. I waited and waited for the cars to pull around the last corner to the straightaway so I could see who is in first. I found that out soon enough. It was my dad! I was jumping up and down with joy, I was so excited. But then 2nd place Jeff Har pulled right next to my dad out of nowhere and got perilously close. They couldn't have been farther than an inch apart from each other. Then I witnessed horror like no other. My dad rubbed tires with Jeff and "Eeeeerrrrrrr!" My dad was spinning out of control. "Aaahhhh!" Exploded throughout the crowds and "Bam!" He got hammered into the wall. I screamed. I bolted out of the press box and sprinted down the bleachers to the wall that surrounds the track. "Dad!!" I shouted. I panicked. What do I do I though? Run out to the track, get help. What do I do to save my dad? But then "Bwoosh!!" The car exploded. I instantly dropped to my knees and burst into tears. My dad had died, no chance of survival. He was gone. People from the crowd came to support me but I didn't care. My dad was dead and that was that. That leaves me here. At the starting line in grid position one exactly like my dad. I couldn't begin to explain how nervous I was. I honestly wanted to quit, but I know for sure that my dad wouldn't want that. So I keep going. With about 1 minute left I prepared myself for the biggest moment of my life. Then the lights turned red. "Vroom!!" The cars bursted alive with vengeance. I thought one more time and I told myself to do this for my dad. Then the yellow light quick flashed. Here we go I thought. Then that bright green flashed like the sun. "Vrrom!" I exploded off the line like a cheetah reaching speeds over 200mph in under 5 seconds, wind smacking me in the face like a punch from Muhammad Ali. I blasted around the corner. Adrenalin was pumping through me. I was speeding around corners like crazy just like my dad. It felt amazing. But next came the last corner. The last corner my dad ever drove on. I veered around the corner and blasted down the straightaway. Then out of nowhere a car pulled next to me and guess who it was.Jeff Har's son of Dave Har. It was 2003 all over again. But this time I wasn't going to crash. I was nervous yes, but I wasn't going to let that stop me from winning the F1 world
