28 November 2013Revision 1.02 Nothing to Report £201.60 (2.8 hours work) Some elements of the current sitrep form need to be re-arranged to increase the speed/efficiency of sending an 'NTR' sitrep; if NTR is selected as the 'General Report Type' an anchor is needed that takes the user directly to Section 10 of the form where they will simply complete 'Who is completing this Situation Report?' and press submit. MI Reporting Area £100.80 (1.4 hours work) The first 2 features of the MI area within the admin screens will be 1) a report that details user submissions and 2) a map report; User Submissions £302.40 (4.2 hours work) In this area a subset of the sitrep data will be made available in an easy to read format, the feature will allow a single transit to be selected and for BP to see the times/dates of submitted sitreps split by user. Map £1814.40 (25.2 hours work) In this area a map will be created [using Google Maps as the base] that will detail [by default] the current progress of all 'live' transits, map markers will be automatically placed using the Lat/Long of the most recently received sitrep for each vessel and a system of colour coded markers will be employed that directly relate to the 'General Report Type' of that sitrep. If a map marker is clicked, sitrep data [Vessel and cargo type, time, date and location of departure, current position, current situation, estimated time of arrival and location] will be displayed. Also the facility to see the passage of a previously completed transit using historical data from all the submitted sitreps will be built, BP management will select the 'Transit ID' from the list and the complete course will be plotted on the map and each map marker will reveal its sitrep data when clicked. As previously discussed, when viewed in 'Full Screen Mode' on a large plasma TV this map feature becomes the perfect demonstration of the work of the business showing real time reporting of ongoing operations. It could be used to attract further investment and impress new customers in the future. Miscellaneous Differences Between Specification and Execution Some ideas and procedures outlined in this document may be approached in a different way in the final system to increase usability or to solve any issues unaccounted for in this non-technical overview.
