Story, Page B1 WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 26, 2014 POST REGISTER A 2 people talk NEW YORK (AP) — Kurt Cobain is the focus of a new doc- umentary that probes the life and untimely death of the Nirvana singer-guitarist. It will be released in the- aters next year and air exclu- sively on HBO, the network said Tuesday. Co-produced by HBO Doc- umentary Films, “Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck” is the first doc- umentary made with the cooper- ation of Cobain’s family. It draws on home movies, journals and other personal archives. It features Nirvana songs and performances and previously unheard Cobain originals. Cobain formed Nirvana in 1985, and by the early 1990s was decreed the spokesman of Generation X. He died of suicide in 1994 at age 27. Shia LaBeouf making progress on treatment NEW YORK (AP) — Actor Shia LaBeouf is complying with treat- ment ordered as part of a plea deal stemming from a bizarre episode during the Broadway show “Cabaret.” The 28-year-old “Transformers” star appeared in a Manhattan court Tuesday to show proof that he’s been at the Hills Treatment Center in Los Angeles. Attorney G. Robert Gage says his client has done a “terrific job” complying. While attending the June 24 per- formance, LaBeouf smoked ciga- rettes, yelled at the actors, swore at security guards and hollered as he was escorted out. birthdays Singer Tina Turner is 75. NEW YORK (AP) — The author of a new Bill Cosby biography is apologizing for not pursuing allegations that the comedian had drugged and sexually assaulted numerous women. Mark Whitaker, whose “Cosby: His Life and Times” was published in September, tweeted Monday that he was wrong not to “aggres- sively” look into the charges and promised to address them “at the appropriate time.” “If true the stories are shocking and horrible,” wrote Whitaker, whose account was confirmed by his publisher, Simon & Schuster. Reports about Cosby have been public knowledge for years, but resurfaced last month after a video of comedian Hannibal Buress calling Cosby a rapist went viral. With several addi- tional women accusing Cosby of assaulting them, projects on NBC and Netflix have been canceled, and TV Land decided not to air reruns of “The Cosby Show.” today’s quiz Isaac Asimov’s Super Quiz Subject: LITERATURE (e.g., What is the country in “Cry, the Beloved Country”?
