Page 2 The Walk From Pastor TIM “I know your works. Look, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.” Revelations 3:8 So, we are entering into a capital campaign to raise $300,000 ! What does that mean for the life of the church? Why are we doing this? It’s a question for all of us to wrestle with as we look once again at our mission statement: “We invite all people into a trusting relationship with God through Jesus Christ.” We are here to Serve our Community : The act of invitation is about serving our community. How we position ourselves as a congre- gation impacts that service. Is our facility up to the standard of serv- ing that we envision? What do we need to do to make it hospitable in this day and age? Those are some of the questions that led the Coun- cil and your leaders to bring to the congregation a proposal to engage a new plan to fund the mission. We are here to Serve with “Radical Hospitality”: As people enter our space to work on their relationship “with God through Jesus Christ”, our calling is to accompany and equip them in the safety and quality of our facilities. Upgrading our facilities is one aspect of encouraging community conversation and involvement in key faith and common good issues. We are here to Serve in Partnership with our Neighbors: We are a public church and we need to be responsible for the safety and accessibility of all who come through or use the grounds and facil- ity. The improvements planned so far will help create the environ- ment of welcome and encourage ongoing and future partnerships! We are here to Serve those Who Follow Us: All the steps we are taking ensure that this gathering place for wor- shippers of Christ our Lord is poised for the future. We want to make it easier for those who follow us to continue in the faith and tradition of who we are as God’s people. We are an “open door” to all who enter— that is the essence of our mission! All are welcome! All are able to enter! Our purpose is to en- sure that this truly happens! God bless us! Contact Us!
