2 Theme for this Year Items showcased on the occasion Words of Encouragement The theme for this year is “Going Beyond the Letters “ Adhering to the theme of Literacy Project for this year, we would be giving vocational classes to the learners, helping them know about painting, sculpture, computer education and off course fashion, making them move ahead with the modern world. The excursions & outings being planned this year would help them to open up, mingle and gain confidence. Our endeavours would be fruitful when they would be able to deal with the basic documentation work at govt.offices or banks. The spectacular event commenced with lighting the lamp of knowledge. The school auditorium which was full of excitement went into a silent mode when the event began with Shloka recitation followed by the “Literacy Pledge” to dispel the darkness of illiteracy & corruption from our country & light the lamp of knowledge. Soon after, there was an audio visual presentation highlighting the purpose of literacy and endeavours undertaken by the school towards the social causes. Colourful dances, heart-warming poems & meaningful songs performed by the students followed drawing a loud applause from the audience. The highlight of the occasion was the song “Peace & Harmony” presented by the learners which was very inspiring for everyone present. Some of the items presented on the occasion were the Literacy Skit... “From Illiteracy to enlightenment”, a captivating shadow dance performance “IMAGINE ME”, Self composed poem on literacy- “Saksharta Phelaayein”, to spread the message of right to education for all. The items were flawlessly choreographed & coordinated. Aptly describing the literacy week as an annual pilgrimage, Dr. Rajni Kumar, the Honorary Advisor, (DSLP) congratulated Manav Sthali for carrying out the work of literacy with full zeal & enthusiasm. She complimented that Manav Sthali School is a school with heart & to become good human beings is the true essence of Manav Sthali. Today more than 100 schools of Delhi are involved in this massive project. DSLP celebrates the International Literacy day, in a unique fashion, by organizing week long activities. These include competitions, held for students, volunteers & their learners in singing, poetry, declamation, street play, poster slogan & cartoon
